Ph.D. Program

 Ph.D. Program

Educational Mission:

The Institute of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the College of Medicine, National Cheng Kung University, currently serves as a joint admissions and teaching platform within the College of Medicine to train advanced pharmaceutical professionals. We aim to cultivate talent for drug discovery and simultaneously enhance the training of advanced technological professionals in drug development and clinical research. Admissions were fully subscribed, and all admitted students registered in the past two years.

The department/institute evaluation in 2008 (Year 97 of the Minguo calendar) largely affirmed the direction of this institute's development. However, it was recommended that the institute increase the number of full-time faculty as soon as possible to comply with the relevant regulations for an independent institute.

In response, the College and University have fully supported the plan, agreeing to first allocate four supporting faculty members starting in 2010 (Year 99) and simultaneously apply to the Ministry of Education for a merger with the Institute of Clinical Pharmacy in 2011 (Year 100) to form an independent institute with both Master's and Ph.D. programs. At that time, there will be eight full-time faculty members. With the University's support, the admission method for the 2011 (Year 100) academic year remains largely unchanged, with divisional adjustments to align with future development. The institute currently offers a scholarship, provided by a drug development-related project, of NT$20,000 per person per month, which will be prioritized for new students admitted in the 2011 (Year 100) academic year.

Application Eligibility:

All individuals with a Master's degree or equivalent academic qualifications (such as an M.D. or D.D.S. degree with two years of work experience) are welcome to apply.
